I am a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Centre of Excellence in Severe Asthma at the University of Newcastle, Australia. From 2015 to 2016, I was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow working at VU University Medical Center, The Netherlands. My research focuses on understanding the relationships between mental and physical health.
I completed my PhD at the University of Newcastle, Australia, under the supervision of Professors Amanda Baker and John Attia. My thesis explored the epidemiological evidence for the inflammatory hypothesis of depression.
My core research skill set is in epidemiological statistical analysis and meta-analysis. For me, the most exciting aspects of research lie communicating with data and sharing my knowledge with others.
I enjoy thinking about complex research questions and theory, analysing data rigorously to answer questions, and structuring ideas for effective communication to specialist and non-specialist audiences. When I’m not doing this, I sweep gum leaves off my patio.
